While studying cross cultural ministries at William Tyndale College in Farmington Hills, Michigan--Pastor Roger Cooper Sr. pastored Faith Free Will Baptist in Romeo, Michigan 1980-1985 and First Free Will Baptist in Hazel Park, Michigan 1986-1994. In the Fall of 1994 he was called to Cookeville, TN to pastor Knights Chapel Free Will Baptist. During that pastorate God placed a burden on his heart to see a visible Christian witness on Highway 111 between Cookeville and Livingston, TN. Outside of city limits, no church was located on this main highway between those two towns--until now. Not only was the burden on his heart to see a visible church on this great highway, but the kind of church to be planted was of real concern. It was to be a fellowship of believers holding to God's Word as the sole authority.
A substantial part of the church world is keeping pace with newer trends of worship and music. Demographic studies may show a larger "market" for contemporary worship, but church fellowships are still needed for those responding to a more traditional presentation of the gospel. The Cookeville area has become a microcosm of larger multicultural cities. We want the worship and witness of 111 Fellowship to first please the heart of God trusting that He will use us to draw people to Himself from the varied cultures about us without targeting any of those particular cultures.
We are members of the National Association of Free Will Baptists with a goal to glorify the Lord, edify the church, win the lost to Christ, and disciple believers to conform to the image of Jesus Christ. One Eleven Fellowship seeks to promote the Church universal while watching and waiting for the imminent call for the bride of Christ.
